Dubai
We have learned from the Advanced AIS in Frankfurt early in the morning that one of their female employees was able to perform a small miracle for us
- she was able to get our overflight permit updated.
Only it is already too late for today. We shall fly to Delhi tomorrow.
So, Dubai shall be explored today. We were picked up by a heavy 8-seater off-road vehicle for a desert tour at around 15:30..
And it was like this..
Fourty such off-road vehicles with similarly curious folks like us met together by the organizer somewhere around 50 kilometers outside the city. So up we went and the multitude set forth. A dream come true for off-road vehicle fans. We had an apelike pace through the desert, up the dune, and along the summit, down the dune, the vehicle hanging inclinated to the right and slid away, hang to the left, and so on and so forth. Some vehicles stopped and distributed some nice little pouches (airsickness - in this case, desert sickness- bags)to the passengers. We surely weree not the first one here. There were traces of those who were here before - stray bumper bars, mud guards, etc. lying around. The trip concluded with a buffet and the traditional customs with belly dance under the open skies. It was worth it.
Our -camel - will bring us up to India tomorrow.
